About us
The German-Chinese Art and Culture Association understands itself as a bridge between Germany and China in the fields of education and culture. The closer global networks become, the more important it is to develop an understanding of the culture and way of thinking of partners in Asia and Europe. Exchange between people from both countries is particularly important for this.
The German-Chinese Art and Culture Association has set itself the task of promoting this exchange and thus contributing to the development of intercultural relations and to the education of young people in particular.
Aizhen Zheng
Aizhen Zheng is the founder of Asiapalast Restaurants and the first chairwoman of the German Chinese Art and Culture Association. She is a committed promoter of cultural exchange between Hanau and China. As the main organizer of the China Festival in Frankfurt, she has made a significant contribution to strengthening relations between Germany and China. Aizhen Zheng was also instrumental in enabling the Karl Rehbein School in Hanau to organize a student exchange with a school in China. She also traveled to China with the “Hanau/Taizhou Friendship” association to strengthen the partnership between the two cities. Her commitment and efforts have promoted cultural exchange and helped to deepen understanding and friendship between the two countries. Aizhen Zheng is an inspiring personality who is passionate about cultural exchange and promoting friendships between Germany and China.
Aizhen Zheng was the first chairwoman to facilitate the organization of a China exchange program for a school in the Vogelsberg region in 2023. This was realized through her existing partnerships with various cities in Zhejiang Province. Through her previous cooperation with the Karl Rehbein School and her commitment to cultural exchange, she already has extensive experience in this area. Aizhen Zheng has thus made a significant contribution to giving pupils the opportunity to take part in an enriching exchange program with China.
Rong Xu
Rong Xu is the managing director of Asiapalast in Langen and is also responsible for the journalistic and editorial work. As the second chairman of the association with perfect cultural knowledge of Germany and China, he is intensively involved in strengthening cultural cooperation and exchange between the two countries. With his extensive expertise in cultural issues, he makes a significant contribution to promoting intercultural understanding. As Managing Director of Asiapalast, Rong Xu ensures an authentic culinary experience and as a journalist and editor, he contributes his communication skills. Through his involvement in the association and his work at Asiapalast, he makes a valuable contribution to strengthening the links between Germany and China on a cultural level. Rong Xu is an inspiring personality who stands out for his versatile skills and his commitment to cultural exchange.
Jürgen Scheuermann
Jürgen Scheuermann, the former principal of the Karl Rehbein School in Hanau and current principal of the evening grammar school in Offenbach, is an outstanding personality in the school system and in cultural exchange. As a member of the CDU, he campaigned intensively for the school system in Hesse and was particularly committed to the interests of the Karl Rehbein School in Hanau. In addition, he founded the “Hanau/Taizhou Friendship” association in 2010, of which he is the first chairman. He has been actively involved in cultural exchange and town twinning between Hanau and Taizhou for many years. His remarkable commitment was recognized in 2018 when he was made an honorary citizen of Taizhou. Jürgen Scheuermann is an inspiring personality whose commitment to both education and cultural exchange has had a positive impact on the region.
Aping Li-Herold
Aping Li-Herold, President of the Association for the Promotion of Economic and Cultural Exchanges between Germany and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (VÜCD), is an outstanding personality in the German-Chinese context. Born and raised in Guangxi Zhuang, she moved to Germany to continue her academic career. There she established herself as an expert in economic diplomacy and trade relations between Germany and China. Her role as the region’s trade representative in Germany strengthened economic relations. Under her leadership, the VÜCD established projects to promote economic and cultural exchange between the two regions. Aping Li-Herold is also committed to intercultural dialog and helps to promote understanding between German and Chinese cultures. Her commitment makes her an inspiring figure who has been instrumental in advancing relations between Germany and China.
Michael Herrmann
Michael Herrmann, a banker with a degree in international business administration and a focus on sinology, has a special connection to Chinese culture. During a year abroad in Beijing, China, he not only perfected his Chinese language skills, but also developed a deep understanding of Chinese culture and lifestyle. Michael feels right at home in Chinese culture and appreciates the diversity and beauty it offers. His enthusiasm for Chinese cuisine is also reflected in his passion for cooking, especially when it comes to preparing authentic Chinese dishes. With his background in business administration and deep roots in Chinese culture, Michael brings a unique perspective and expertise that allows him to build bridges between the Western and Chinese worlds. Michael Herrmann is the 4th member of the German-Chinese Art and Culture Association.

Hans Kurt Schäfer has more than 30 years of operational experience in marketing and sales of commercial banking services and products as well as in investment banking. Xinxin Liu
Xinxin Liu, a Chinese musician, began her musical development at the age of 5 and received piano lessons from 1991. She trained at the Jie Fang Primary School and the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. She later completed an artistic diploma and a master’s degree in piano and ensemble at the University of Music in Würzburg. In her professional career, she has worked as a project manager for German-Chinese art and cultural exchange. Xinxin Liu is a talented musician who combines her passion for music with a strong commitment to intercultural dialog.
Menlong Ding
In 2016, Menlong Ding graduated from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) with a major in Engineering Management and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law with a major in Law. During this time, he also studied at Wuhan University and the China University of Political Science and Law. He is licensed to practice law in China and currently works at Baoyuan Law Firm in Shandong Province. He later studied law at the Georg-August University in Göttingen and is currently studying computer science at the Goethe University in Frankfurt with a minor in photography. In the future, he plans to specialize in legislation in the field of artificial intelligence.
Tianqi Herrmann
Tianqi Herrmann, a travel agent with a degree in International Business Administration, was born in Shandong Province, China. In addition to her professional activities, she is passionately involved in various clubs and sports. She is an active member of the Bladin Ballet School in Hanau, where she shares her love of dance. She is also a member of the Ju-Jutsu and basketball sections of TG Hanau, where she demonstrates her athletic skills and commitment to team sports. Tianqi Herrmann is also involved with WSV Delphin 78 Großauheim e.V., a club dedicated to swimming. Her multifaceted involvement demonstrates her interest in promoting the arts, sports and community in her area.
Yuanfang Zhang
Ms. Yuanfang Zhang comes from the historic imperial city of Luoyang in China and is both a musician and a music teacher. Her passion for music is reflected in her profession, where she passes on her expertise and experience to her students. In addition to her professional commitment, she is very dedicated to singing, which is her personal hobby. Through her love of music and her commitment as a musician and music teacher, Ms. Yuanfang Zhang helps to promote and share the beauty and importance of music in her community. Her talent and enthusiasm make her an inspiring personality in the world of music.
Yingjie Yu
Mr. Yingjie Yu comes from the picturesque city of Weihai in China and works as a chef. He devotes himself to the art of cooking with great passion and expertise and enriches the gastronomy scene with his culinary skills. In addition to his professional activities, he also has two special hobbies that enrich his life. He loves traveling and exploring new places to get to know different cultures and their culinary diversity. Traveling broadens his horizons and inspires him in his work as a chef. He is also an avid jogger and finds running a balance to his everyday working life. Mr. Yingjie Yu’s passion for cooking, his curiosity for travel and his love of jogging make him a multifaceted and dynamic personality.
